SB 1629nc 1998 24 Hours Instruction & BSIS Certification School Security Training Syllabus: I. Registration (Classroom) A. Administration. 2 hours Objective: to enroll individual in course Check individual identification check guard registration stutus Have state forms filled out Have training school forms filled out Course admission B. Laws and regulations for issuing a firearms qualification card, 2 hours B. Laws and regulations for issuing a firearms qualification card, 2 hours Objective: to familiarize and instruct the individual on the laws, regulation, other requirements, and the administrative process for issuing a firearms qualification card and annual renewals. With the passage of SB 1626 in 1998, state law will soon require security guards in K-12 school districts or California community college districts to complete a course of training developed by BSIS. The new law takes effect July 1, 2000, and effects guards working on school property for more than 20 hours per week.
